Advances in technology have allowed SSC to focus solely on trenchless methodologies.
Considered experts in Arizona’s underground, SSC now offers trenchless consulting services and education to clients worldwide.
Celebrating 50 Years as Leaders in Underground Construction in Arizona.
Although some of the faces have changed, SSC still believes that our company can only be as strong as the values behind it. Those same solid principles that guided our grandparents back in 1969.
To be the leader in underground construction, provide meaningful employment, and promote positive community impact.
Our Core Values:
North Mountain Business Alliance
SSC is a founding member of North Mountain Business Alliance (NMBA), a community organization that aims to improve the local area around North Mountain Village in north Phoenix for all businesses and residents. Marcia Veidmark led these efforts beginning in 2011, working with city officials and local area business owners to address community concerns related to public safety and zoning. The alliance has also worked to promote various community resources to area residents such as training programs, early childhood development, and after-school programs. Marcia Veidmark’s community improvement involvement extends to her being a member of the North Mountain Village planning committee.
Phoenix Rescue Mission
SSC is a proud supporter of the Phoenix Rescue Mission through financial support and by sponsoring food and toiletry drives for employees to have the opportunity to participate. SSC values the opportunity to support this organization that helps the most at-risk members of our population get on their feet and become contributing members of society.
Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention
SSC is a proud supporter of the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention (CIASP), an organization working to address the fact that construction is the #1 industry for suicide deaths. Michelle Walker, VP of Finance at SSC is one of the founders and current chairman of the alliance. She speaks at national conferences, local trade associations, and construction companies to promote awareness of mental health and suicide prevention. SSC is proud to support this important industry organization financially and through Michelle’s involvement.
Saguaro Camp Cedarbrook
SSC is a proud supporter and donor to Saguaro Camp Cedarbrook (SCC), a Christian Outdoor Camp in Arizona that helps campers come to know Christ and develop daily habits of Christian living. The camp provides Christ-centered outdoor programs, where campers can develop positive self-concepts, experience God’s beautiful creation, explore His Word, and build meaningful relationships with staff members and other campers. SSC’s owner and Executive Vice President, Arvid Veidmark III has volunteered and lead this camp for the past 15+ years. In addition, Arvid leads an archery ministry for campers to participate in year-round, maintaining their positive connections and interactions. This archery club is housed at SSC’s facilities.
